Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony – Granville’s Hallelujah
Bring your family, and enjoy with your neighbors and friends as we welcome the holiday season and watch our park come to life with thousands of lights synchronized to music! This year our program is based on Leonard Cohen’s song “Hallelujah”- be part of the crowd as we form a 1,500 – 2,000 person choir and raise our voices in song. We will have candles (battery-operated) to illuminate the lyrics along with the movement of 40,000+ lights…this will be an uplifting and emotional performance that you won’t want to miss!!
Santa will have gifts for the children and he spends time with each and every one. There will be Horse and Wagon rides, campfires with s’mores, cookies and cocoa, and live reindeer! The Ecumenical Council will feature a Live Nativity, follow the star to the Baptist Church across from the park; both The Slate Valley Museum (Festival of Trees) and The Pember Library and Museum (Festival of Wreaths, Holiday Market) will host Open Houses and feature choral performances.
As always, this event is a collaborative effort coordinated by the Village of Granville with assistance from the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce, the title sponsor is the Great Meadow Federal Credit Union. Snacks are provided by the American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Boy Scouts and Revive Church.
